What a Terraria server needs

The Terraria dedicated server uses one TCP port, 7777 by default (port= in serverconfig.txt or -port).

  Install the CLI

  x64 and ARM64. Works on Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch and most others (not Alpine).

Log in and start the tunnel
```
$ voidport login
```

$ voidport tunnel --preset terraria
```
The CLI shows the address, for example nbg1.voidport.net:30421. Players open Multiplayer → Join via IP, enter the host (nbg1.voidport.net) as the IP and the number after the colon as the port.

Another port

If your server listens on a different port, tunnel that one instead: voidport tunnel 7778.

Set a password

Once the tunnel runs, anyone with the address can try to join. Set password= in serverconfig.txt to keep it among friends.

Keep it running

Install the tunnel as a system service so it starts with the machine: voidport service install. See Run as a service.

Questions

Do my friends need VoidPort?

No. Only the machine with the server runs the VoidPort CLI. Players use the normal game and your address.

Which relay should I pick?

The one closest to most of your players. voidport relays shows the latency from your machine to Nuremberg, Helsinki, Ashburn and Hillsboro, which is a good hint if your players are nearby; pick the relay with --relay when you create the tunnel.

How many players can join?

Up to the concurrent connections of your plan: 10 on Gamer, 50 on Pro, 500 on Hosting. Each player is one connection.
